A Nigerian man, Abubakar Yahaya, from Kano State, is reportedly trekking back to Nigeria from Senegal after his attempt to seek a better life abroad ended in hardship.
The story was shared by a fellow traveler, Emmanuel Myam, popularly known as Emmi Wuks, who said he met Yahaya on his journey to Senegal.
According to Emmi, Yahaya left Nigeria in June 2024 in search of opportunities to support himself and his family but has faced severe challenges along the way.
Emmi wrote: “While I was on my way to Senegal, I met my Nigerian brother, Abubakar Yahaya from Kano State. He left Nigeria in June 2024 for a better life for himself and his family but along the way, life dealt him a harsh hand. He is currently trekking back to Nigeria from Senegal, with no money, no phone and no support.”
The Kano Indigene appealed to members of the public and relevant authorities to assist Yahaya in returning home safely.

“If this story touches you and you can help in any way in assisting him to get back home safely to Nigeria, kindly reach out. No one deserves to suffer alone on the road to survival,” he said.
Emmi Wuks, had before now stirred intense debate after embarking on an ambitious journey to the United States on a bicycle.
This is not the first time the young adventurer from Benue State has drawn public attention. In 2022, he cycled from Makurdi to Lagos in a quest to meet Nigerian music star Davido.
Although he completed the trip in nine days and received praise from many—including Fearless Energy Drink, which he adopted as his official sponsor—he did not get to meet the artist.
