Joseph Momodu Joins US Army After Completing Basic Combat Training

Nollywood actor Joseph Momodu has officially enlisted in the United States Army after successfully completing Basic Combat Training, describing the achievement as the fulfilment of a lifelong dream and a tribute to his late father, who served in the Nigeria Police Force.

Sharing the milestone on Instagram, Momodu recounted the physical and emotional demands of the 10-week training, saying it was marked by tears, fatigue, fear of failure, and relentless discipline that transformed him from a civilian into a soldier.

He revealed that he chose April 12, 2026, to honour his father, who died 20 years ago, by continuing the family’s tradition of service.

Momodu announced that he now serves as Specialist (SPC) J.A. Momodu with the 1st Platoon, Charlie Company, 3-10, 3rd Battalion, 10th Infantry Regiment, Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.

He dedicated the achievement to God, his late father, his family, and everyone who supported his journey, including his social media manager and the US Army Recruiting Station in Burbank, California.
