“Japa Is the Only Thing on My Mind Now” — Saida Boj Laments Insecurity, Economic Hardship

Social media personality Saida Boj has expressed deep frustration over Nigeria’s worsening economic and security challenges, declaring that relocating abroad, popularly known as “japa,” is now the only option on her mind despite previously believing the country would improve.

In a video shared online, the influencer said she once laughed at people who wanted to leave Nigeria and remained optimistic about the nation’s future, but recent realities have changed her perspective.

She cited insecurity, the rising cost of living, poor electricity supply, inadequate infrastructure, and expensive transportation as factors driving her disappointment.

Saida Boj particularly lamented the dangers associated with travelling by road, noting that fears of kidnapping have made it difficult for her to visit her hometown in Kogi State.

According to her, what was once a simple trip to the village has become a luxury, as many Nigerians can no longer afford basic experiences amid worsening economic conditions.

She said the situation has left many citizens feeling hopeless about the country’s future
