Popular Nigerian skit maker Cute Abiola has sparked widespread reactions after publicly appealing to cult groups to channel their influence toward addressing insecurity across the country.
In a video shared on his Instagram page, the comedian urged cultists to demonstrate what he described as their strength and influence by helping to protect communities affected by banditry and violent crimes.
According to him, Nigerians should be allowed to see the positive side of the power associated with cult groups, arguing that such influence could be redirected for societal benefit.
“It is time for all Nigerians to know your power,” he said while calling on cultists to come out and support affected communities. Cute Abiola also noted that many areas where cult activities are reportedly prevalent are among those facing security challenges.
His remarks come amid growing concern over insecurity, including the reported abduction of more than 40 children, teachers and a school principal in Oyo State.
