‘I’ll send you to prison’, VDM threatens Sowore

Popular Nigerian social media sensation, VeryDarkMan (VDM), has sternly warned human rights activist Omoyele Sowore, vowing legal action if his image is used without consent.

In a video shared on his official Instagram page, VDM directly addressed Sowore, accusing him of failing to support him and cautioning him against actions that recently landed businessman Blord in legal trouble.

“Sowore, I know you never liked me. All these things wey you dey do online, I know. Sowore, I swear to God, if dem born you well, do the same thing wey Blord do. Go and use my picture on a billboard or use my picture to promote things without getting approval from me. You, Omoyele Sowore, I will send you to prison if dem born you well do wetin he do,” VDM said.

The warning comes in the wake of Blord’s remand on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, over alleged impersonation of VeryDarkMan, forgery, false endorsement, breach of privacy, and identity theft.

Reacting to the controversy, Sowore downplayed the legal outcome, stating that sending Blord to prison over what he described as an “innovative strategy” and the expertise of VeryDarkMan’s legal team should not be viewed as a victory.
