Controversial Nigerian singer Portable has drawn widespread criticism after a viral video captured him issuing threatening statements tied to political support.
In the clip, Portable warned that anyone who does not support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu could face dire consequences, invoking traditional deities while urging voters to align with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
He also claimed his affiliation with the party, noting that he had received APC-branded clothing and planned to distribute food items such as rice and vegetable oil to supporters.
“If you don’t want war in Nigeria, you better vote for Tinubu. Na thunder and 0gun go keyyy any Yoruba man that doesn’t vote for Tinubu,” he said.
The video has sparked outrage on social media, with critics condemning the singer’s use of intimidation to influence political choices, raising concerns about the impact of celebrity endorsements in elections.
