Dr. Sharon Ifunanya Maduekwe, wife of Nollywood actor Shawn Faqua, has revealed that she initially suspected he was hiding another woman because of his strong Christian convictions and strict boundaries during their courtship.
Speaking in a recent interview, Sharon, popularly known as Akwa Ugoo, said Shawn insisted they would not have sex before marriage and refused to allow her visit his house alone.
She recalled one occasion when her hotel was fully booked and she asked to stay at his home, but he said he needed to seek the Holy Spirit’s direction before agreeing.
Although he later permitted her to stay, Sharon said Shawn slept in the sitting room while she used the bedroom, leaving her doubtful because of past relationship experiences.
She added that his consistent love and commitment eventually changed her perspective, noting that he even refused to give up when she requested a two-week break before their engagement, insisting he had taken the matter to God.
