Pastor David Ibiyeomie, founder of Salvation Ministries, has claimed that his prayers played a crucial role in the political victories of former Rivers State governor Nyesom Wike.
During a church service, Ibiyeomie recounted that Wike called him from Israel, worried over a Supreme Court judgment expected to go against him after losses at the High Court and Court of Appeal.
The pastor said he reassured Wike, declaring, “Don’t fear, don’t panic. God will step in.” Following a church programme, Five Nights of Glory, the Supreme Court ruling unexpectedly changed in Wike’s favour.
Ibiyeomie further alleged that during Wike’s re-election bid, opponents attempted to manipulate results in favour of Biokpomabo Awara.
He said he prayed, made a covenant with God, and even donated money on Wike’s behalf. According to him, divine intervention prevented the alteration of results, ensuring Wike’s victory.
