“I Know The Politicians Behind Oyo Students’ Abduction” — Sunday Igboho Threatens To Reveal Names

Yoruba Nation activist Sunday Igboho has threatened to expose politicians allegedly sponsoring the abduction of schoolchildren in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State if the perpetrators fail to halt their activities.

Speaking during a meeting with newly elected leaders of the National Association of Nigerian Students in Ibadan, Igboho claimed he knew individuals providing financial and logistical support to the kidnappers and warned that he would publicly identify them.

He said he had volunteered to help flush out the criminals from their hideouts but was allegedly discouraged by the Oyo State Government, which feared such an operation could endanger the lives of the abducted victims.

Igboho also denied seeking financial support from the state government to rescue the captives and insisted that his proposed security network, Iru Ekun, was designed to combat insecurity across the South-West.

The controversy follows the May 15 abduction of dozens of pupils and teachers from three schools in Oriire, an incident that has heightened security concerns across Oyo State after one abducted teacher was reportedly killed by the kidnappers.
