Nollywood actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele has revealed why she has stopped attending physical church services, citing constant media attention as a major reason.
In a video shared on her Snapchat account, the actress was seen preparing breakfast for her children and getting them ready for church when she addressed the issue.
She stated that whenever she attends church, she is frequently photographed, making it difficult for her to worship privately.
“Do not ask if I am going to church. I am not going to church. Anytime I go to church, it is me that they take picture of. I will join online,” she said.
Akindele, who is associated with the Celestial Church of Christ (CAC), explained that online services offer her more privacy and comfort.
Her statement has since sparked mixed reactions online, with some supporting her decision while others insist that physical fellowship remains important despite fame.
