Nollywood actor Uzor Arukwe has opened up on why he remained silent following the death of his colleague, Alex Ekubo, saying grief left him without words and that some losses are carried quietly in the heart.
In a lengthy Instagram tribute, Arukwe revealed that he initially struggled to react publicly to the actor’s passing, explaining that not every farewell requires social media posts.
He recalled meeting the late actor on filmmaker Dabby Chimere’s set and described him as a warm, accommodating and genuinely kind man who treated people with grace.
According to him, listening to stories from those who knew Ekubo more closely reminded him that people are remembered not only for their achievements but also for their kindness and spirit.
Arukwe noted that his silence was a reflection of his grief and appreciation for the legacy the late actor left behind. Alex Ekubo died on May 11, 2026, after battling metastatic kidney cancer.
