“I Am an Egba Woman, Not a Ghanaian” — Nana Otedola Clarifies Identity in Viral Video

Nana Otedola, wife of billionaire businessman Femi Otedola, has clarified misconceptions about her nationality, insisting she is an Egba woman from Abeokuta, Ogun State, and not Ghanaian as widely assumed online.

In a video featuring her daughter Temi Otedola, she addressed the issue directly, stating that while she was born in Kaduna State and lived there for nearly two decades, her ethnic roots remain firmly in Abeokuta.

She explained that the confusion may have stemmed from her long residence in different parts of Nigeria, which has led some social media users to wrongly associate her with Ghanaian heritage.

Nana also revealed that she is known as Nana Fatima, a name given to her by her grandfather during her naming ceremony.

The clarification has since circulated online, aiming to correct long-standing assumptions about her identity and affirm her Nigerian heritage amid public curiosity about the Otedola family.
