“He Had No Business Dying” — Daddy Freeze Explains Why He Wore Black To Alex Ekubo’s Service Of Songs

Media personality Daddy Freeze has explained why he attended the Service of Songs for late actor Alex Ekubo dressed in black despite a white-only dress code, saying he viewed the event as a moment of mourning rather than celebration.

Speaking during an Instagram Live session, Daddy Freeze admitted he was wrong to ignore the family’s request but said it was an honest mistake because he did not notice the dress code on the invitation.

The broadcaster stated that Ekubo’s death at the age of 40 remained a painful and tragic loss, arguing that the actor still had much to achieve in life.

He questioned claims that Ekubo had completed his earthly assignment, insisting he did not believe the late actor should have died so young.

Daddy Freeze also noted that black or traditional attire is commonly worn to funerals in his culture and apologised to anyone offended by his choice of clothing, stressing that he attended the event with respect and sorrow rather than celebration.
