Nollywood actress Bimbo Ademoye has paid an emotional tribute to late actor Alex Ekubo, describing him as “gone but never forgotten” as preparations for his burial continue.
Sharing a flyer of the actor’s burial arrangements on social media, Ademoye expressed her grief and urged the deceased actor to “fly high,” joining a growing list of celebrities honouring his memory.
In a further show of respect, the actress changed her profile picture to Ekubo’s image, a gesture also reportedly adopted by fellow actress Nancy Isime.
Alex Ekubo died on May 11, 2026, at the age of 40 after battling cancer.
According to a statement released by his family, he passed away at Evercare Hospital following complications arising from advanced metastatic kidney cancer after what was described as a brief but courageous battle.
His death has continued to generate tributes across the entertainment industry, with colleagues and fans remembering his talent, kindness and lasting contributions to Nollywood
