Nollywood actress and African Action Congress governorship candidate for the 2027 Abia State election, Doris Ogala, was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre, Umuahia, on Friday after reportedly losing consciousness during a consultation.
Videos circulating on social media showed the actress being attended to at the medical facility, where she was later stabilised.
Confirming the incident on her Instagram page, Ogala disclosed that she had been taken to the hospital after collapsing but assured supporters that her condition had improved.
“I was rushed to FMC Umuahia. I lost consciousness. Glory to God I am stabilised now,” she wrote while sharing footage from the health centre.
The videos also showed her in a wheelchair interacting with patients, hospital staff and offering prayers.
The incident comes shortly after Ogala emerged as the African Action Congress candidate for the 2027 governorship election in Abia State, where she has pledged to focus on economic growth, job creation and people-centred governance.
The development sparked mixed reactions online, with some Nigerians praising her engagement with patients while others questioned the circumstances surrounding the incident.
