The family of late Nollywood actor Alex Ekubo has announced detailed funeral arrangements following his passing on May 11, 2026, at the age of 40.
According to a statement released on his official Instagram page and signed by Mazi Alex Oji Ekubo Okwaraeke, the actor will be laid to rest on June 18, 2026, in Arochukwu, Abia State.
The family described him as a loving, warm, and generous personality whose life reflected devotion to God and those around him.
A service of songs is scheduled for June 10 at The Monarch Event Centre in Lekki, Lagos, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., with guests expected to appear in white attire.
A wake-keep will hold on June 17 at the family residence in Arochukwu, followed by the funeral service and interment on June 18, and a reception at Mary Slessor School.
The family appreciated the public’s overwhelming support during their period of grief.
Ekubo reportedly died after complications linked to advanced metastatic kidney cancer.
