Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have arrested former Minister of Power, Saleh Mamman, following his recent conviction by the Federal High Court in Abuja over financial misappropriation allegations.
According to a report by Channels Television, EFCC Chairman, Ola Olukoyede, confirmed that Mamman was apprehended in the early hours of Tuesday in Kaduna State.
Olukoyede disclosed that the former minister was arrested at about 3:30 a.m. alongside two other individuals allegedly shielding him from law enforcement authorities.
The EFCC chairman further revealed that investigators were examining the property where the former minister was arrested as part of ongoing investigations linked to the case.
Mamman was recently convicted and sentenced by the Federal High Court, Abuja, in connection with alleged financial misconduct during his tenure as minister.
