“Don’t stop praying for addicts” — Tonto Dikeh opens up on past drug struggle and recovery journey

Actress Tonto Dikeh has opened up about her past struggle with drug addiction, urging the public to show compassion and continue praying for people battling substance abuse.

In a heartfelt Instagram post, she said society should hate drugs and addiction but never abandon those trapped in it.

Dikeh described addiction as a symptom of deeper emotional pain rather than a person’s identity, noting that many struggling individuals are often misunderstood and judged for their behaviour.

She reflected on her own experience, admitting she was once “chaos” and “broken,” but insisted her actions were driven by inner hurt and desperation for relief.

The mother of one said her recovery was made possible through divine intervention, adding that God heard her silent cries. She encouraged people to keep praying for addicts, stressing that no one is beyond redemption.

According to her, healing is possible and her life stands as proof of restoration and transformation.
