President Bola Tinubu has urged Nigerian youths to remain in the country and contribute to national development, declaring that the future of Nigeria belongs to those who stay to solve its challenges rather than those who leave.
In his Democracy Day address marking his fourth since assuming office in May 2023, the President said: “To our young people: Nigeria is your home and your future. Build here, code here, work here, and vote here.”
He added that every great nation is built by those who stay to solve problems, not those who abandon ship.
The President said Nigeria’s democratic dividends must translate into economic outcomes, citing initiatives including Nigerian Education Loan Fund, agricultural development projects, SME export certification, and plan to deploy 10,000 tractors five years.
He stressed that the current generation carries a defining responsibility to secure prosperity for the nation, building on the legacies of independence and democracy.
