Afrobeats star Davido has declared that he will personally participate in efforts to protect votes during the August 15, 2026 Osun State governorship election, warning against any attempt to manipulate the electoral process.
The singer made the statement through a post on his Instagram story, where he pledged support for Governor Ademola Adeleke’s re-election bid under the Accord Party.
Davido stated that he would be physically present during the poll and cautioned individuals planning to interfere with the outcome that they would face consequences.
His remarks were accompanied by a video clip of former Resident Electoral Commissioner Nnenna Otti discussing electoral fraud, which he referenced while reiterating his commitment to safeguarding the vote.
The music star has remained active in Osun politics and further strengthened his involvement in April when he was appointed head of youth mobilisation for the Accord Party campaign council ahead of the closely watched governorship election.
