Nollywood actress Angela Okorie has revealed that she burned the outfit she wore to Alex Ekubo’s burial, citing spiritual advice from her godmother.
The actress made the revelation via her Instagram story following the burial of the late actor, which took place on June 18 in Arochukwu, Abia State.
According to her, her godmother advised that clothing worn to a burial should not be kept but destroyed, specifically by burning. Okorie said she felt compelled to share the advice with family and friends so they could also take note of the practice.
She added that she had already set the outfit ablaze after returning from the ceremony. In her message, she prayed for protection and long life for herself and others.
The statement has since sparked conversations online about cultural and personal beliefs surrounding burial rituals and post-funeral practices among celebrities and the public.
