A resident of Bayelsa State has raised alarm over a massive pothole on a major road in Nembe, warning that it poses a serious threat to motorists and pedestrians.
Speaking anonymously, the man described the pothole as extremely deep and wide, noting that it has deteriorated due to prolonged neglect and heavy traffic.
According to him, the affected road is a key route used daily by commuters, increasing the likelihood of accidents.
He stressed that the situation becomes more dangerous at night and during rainfall when visibility is poor.
“This pothole in the middle of the road will cause a big accident. A whole human being can stand inside it,” he said.
The resident urged the Bayelsa State Government to act swiftly, warning that continued inaction could lead to vehicle damage, injuries, or loss of lives.
Residents say poor road maintenance remains a recurring issue in the state.
