The Nigerian entertainment industry has been thrown into mourning following the death of veteran Nollywood actor Patrick Okoye, popularly known as “Energy.”
According to reports, the respected actor passed away in the early hours of Thursday, May 28, 2026. Beyond his achievements in Nollywood, Patrick Okoye was also recognised as a lecturer at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, where he reportedly impacted many students through teaching and mentorship.
News of his death surfaced after a post was shared on his official Instagram page announcing his passing. The emotional post featured a photo of the late actor alongside the caption, “Rest in peace legend.”
Following the heartbreaking announcement, fans, colleagues, and well-wishers took to social media to express grief and pay tribute to the late actor, describing him as talented, humble, and dedicated to the Nigerian movie industry throughout his career.
