Popular Nollywood actor Chinedu Ikedieze, widely known as Aki, has expressed surprise over the $30 fee charged to fans attending a FIFA World Cup fan festival in Dallas, United States, where supporters watched Wednesday’s Group K clash between DR Congo and Portugal on giant screens outside the stadium.
In a video shared on his Facebook page, the actor said the amount was equivalent to about ₦40,000 and noted that spectators were paying the fee despite not gaining access to the main stadium.
Ikedieze explained that the fan festival atmosphere was similar to viewing centres in Nigeria, adding that the large screens and environment still made fans feel connected to the live match experience.
He also drew attention to the extensive security presence at the venue and revealed that parking attracted a separate $30 charge.
Describing the experience as surprising, the actor remarked that both entry and parking costs reflected the realities of attending major sporting events in the United States.
