Legal tensions have intensified in the ongoing child custody dispute between Afrobeats star Davido and his former partner Sophia Momodu, following the filing of a ₦1 billion lawsuit against the singer.
The suit was instituted by Sophia Momodu’s lawyer, Ebelechukwu Egeonu Enedah, through Punuka Attorneys & Solicitors, over alleged verbal attacks and defamatory statements.
According to court documents, the dispute arose from a tense court session on February 12, 2026, during which Davido reportedly insulted the lawyer and later described her on social media as the “worst lawyer ever.”
The law firm is demanding a public apology, a retraction of the statements and ₦1 billion in damages, giving Davido a seven-day ultimatum.
The lawsuit adds a fresh layer of drama to the long-running custody battle over their daughter, Imade.
