The University of Lagos has dismissed claims that it withheld results from the 2025 Post-Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (Post-UTME), insisting that all results have been released to candidates.
In a letter dated September 23 and signed by the Registrar, Mrs. V. Abosede Wickliffe, the institution said only candidates found guilty of examination malpractice were disqualified and duly notified.
The clarification came in response to a pre-action notice issued by Hon. Kene Nnadi of F.K. Nnadi & Co., who had petitioned the Vice Chancellor on behalf of affected candidates.

According to UNILAG, its internal review uncovered “few cases of examination malpractice” during the admission process. The university stressed that it acted within its prerogative to investigate and disqualify candidates who violated its standards.
“These outcomes have been publicly communicated via the University’s Information Bulletin,” the Registrar wrote. She further emphasised that admission into the university remains provisional, contingent on both academic performance and adherence to ethical standards.
While acknowledging the right of aggrieved candidates to seek redress, UNILAG maintained that its procedures were transparent and consistent with its admission criteria.
