TikTok influencer and livestreamer Habeeb Hamzat, widely known as Peller, has been hospitalised after crashing his newly purchased Mercedes-Benz during an emotional livestream in Lagos.

The accident occurred on Sunday along the Lekki-Epe Expressway while Peller was broadcasting an Instagram live session titled “RIP Peller.” The video, which has since gone viral, showed the content creator driving alone and appearing visibly distressed.

During the livestream, Peller was seen crying and speaking angrily on the phone, reportedly with his girlfriend and fellow influencer, Jarvis, amid speculation that their relationship had ended. He appeared agitated throughout the broadcast and made several alarming statements that raised concern among viewers.

In the video, he expressed deep emotional pain, fear of public ridicule if the relationship collapsed, and made remarks suggesting he could deliberately cause an accident. At one point, he also claimed he might harm himself while insisting he did not want to endanger others.

“I will use this car and have an accident right now,” and later, “I’m scared. I’m scared.

“If you break up with me, people will be mocking me, they will be mocking me, they will be mocking me, they will be, they will be mocking me, they will not… Thank you, I’m going to kill myself.”

Moments after the emotional outburst, the footage captured the vehicle swerving off the road and crashing into a barrier, leaving the luxury car badly damaged.

People at the scene reportedly rushed to his aid before he was taken to a hospital for treatment. Although it has been confirmed that he was rescued and received medical care, the extent of his injuries has not been officially disclosed.

Peller and Jarvis have had a volatile relationship, with past public disputes, accusations and reconciliations frequently unfolding on social media.

Freshly leaked messages pointing to another possible breakup have intensified speculation that the disagreement may have sparked the incident.

Reactions online have been divided. While many users expressed serious concern for Peller’s mental health and overall well-being, others questioned the authenticity of the incident, suggesting it may have been exaggerated or staged, citing his track record of viral stunts.

Meanwhile, some commentators have called on authorities, including the Federal Road Safety Corps, to probe the incident because of the potential danger it posed to other road users.

As of the time of reporting, neither Peller nor Jarvis, nor any relevant authorities, have issued an official statement.
