A Nigerian man claiming to be a member of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) has stirred reactions online after alleging that a planned peaceful protest against insecurity was abruptly cancelled on the instruction of the church leadership.
In a viral video circulating on social media, the man explained that members were directed to observe a three-day fasting programme before participating in a peaceful protest walk.
According to him, worshippers arrived at church expecting the demonstration to proceed, only to be informed that the protest had been cancelled following a new directive.
Speaking emotionally, he accused church leaders of remaining silent despite worsening insecurity across the country.
He further alleged that the cancellation was influenced by political connections involving Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, who is reportedly a member of RCCG.
The claims have since triggered widespread debate online, with mixed reactions from Nigerians.
